A fresh-breath oral dissolving film is an ultra-thin strip that melts on the tongue or buccal mucosa within seconds, delivering instant freshness without water. Each strip is individually sacheted for discreet, on-the-go use.

Its effects come from three mechanisms: mint oils with cooling agents provide a long-lasting, non-stinging cool sensation; zinc salts or cyclodextrins complex volatile sulfur compounds to neutralize odors; and, where regulations permit, mild antimicrobial ingredients can be included to help reduce odor-related oral bacteria.

Key advantages include rapid dissolution, controlled taste, and high adherence. Sugar-free or low-calorie sweetener systems with slight pH buffering reduce irritation and aftertaste, and the tiny format enables immediate use without rinsing or brushing.

A typical formula uses film formers such as HPMC, pullulan, PVA, or PVP with plasticizer/humectant systems like glycerin, sorbitol, PEG 400, or propylene glycol, combined with peppermint and fruit flavors plus WS-3/WS-23/menthyl lactate for cooling. Small amounts of surfactant aid flavor-oil dispersion, while ascorbic acid and trace chelators help stabilize flavor and color.

Common use moments include before meetings or social interactions, during commuting and travel, after meals or coffee, and whenever brushing or rinsing is inconvenient. Place one strip on the tongue and let it dissolve in seconds; repeat every 1–3 hours as needed.
